THE WORK

Who would you be without your story?

The Work is a simple yet powerful process of inquiry that teaches you to identify and question thoughts that cause all the suffering in the world. It's a way to understand what's hurting you, and to address your problems with clarity. Many of us go through our lives angry and upset at other people, we might not ever stop to really question our thoughts and what or who we are angry at. This process of inquiry is, simply put, a process to question your thoughts and taking a look at your responsibility in your own life. Byron Katie teaches that there are only two types of thoughts in life, there is either a peaceful thought or a stressful thought. When you take the time to examine your thoughts you will discover the pathway to release your stressful thoughts and then reclaim your peaceful thoughts. People who do The Work as an ongoing practice report life-changing results.

Alleviation of depression
Decreased stress
Improved relationships
Reduced anger
Increased mental clarity
More energy
More peace

The Work consists of four questions and a turnaround.

Is it true?
Can you absolutely know that it's true?
How do you react, what happens, when you think that thought?
Who would you be without the thought?
After you've investigated your statement with the four questions, you're ready to Turn It Around.
A “turnaround” is an opportunity to experience for yourself the opposite of your original statement and to see what you and the person you've judged have in common.
Turning a thought around means you are looking at yourself, instead of focusing on what angers or frustrates you in life about others.
The turnarounds are your prescription for happiness. Live the medicine you have been prescribing for others. The world is waiting for just one person to live it.
You're the one.
